Living sustainably: 12 things that help me not to be an environmental pig

Living sustainably – that seems boring to many people. Unfortunately, much of what has to do with the topic of sustainability still has a dusty image. Above all, it sounds like sacrifice, restrictions and inconvenience.

To be honest, this way of thinking is pretty old-fashioned. You notice this at the latest when you take a look around your own household. Many of the things that make up a sustainable life have now quietly and secretly become part of our everyday lives. And they’re not dusty at all, they’re actually quite adorable. Bet you won’t want to miss some of them anymore?

I looked around to see what would make it easier for me to live sustainably in everyday life. And discovered that most of these things and habits actually put me in a pretty good mood! This is not only due to the lack of a guilty conscience, but also because they are fun. Yes, really!

Yes, living sustainably can be fun!

For me, living sustainably means dealing with your environment more consciously. I like that. Because suddenly I appreciate regional products much more and am happy like a proud mother when the first greens actually sprout from the spring onions on my balcony. Because that can also mean a sustainable life: I learned that the stalk of spring onions doesn’t have to end up in the trash, but rather in the flower pot. It simply grows back there. And tada – after a short time you can actually harvest a fresh onion again!

A lot of things and habits have now become part of my life that make it a bit more sustainable. And all without major sacrifices or unpleasant restrictions. How it works? Just click through the photo gallery to get a little inspiration. Maybe you also enjoy one or two parts of sustainable living!
