Christmas is the Celebration of Love. Many of us traditionally go to see relatives and families over the holidays. But this year everything is different: Who can we still meet and when?

In Germany, the "hard lockdown" applies with strict rules that are intended to enable the coronavirus to be contained. But what exactly do the restrictions mean for the upcoming holidays? In the video you can find out how many people you can meet with – because there are exceptions for Christmas that give us more freedom.

Silent night, hasty night?

So can everyone stay together comfortably – or do some guests have to leave the Christmas household as soon as possible on December 24th? Don't panic: From December 24th to 26th inclusive, a household can meet with up to four other people, regardless of the number of people. However, they must all belong to the closest family circle. Children under the age of 14 are not included. From December 27th, tougher restrictions will apply again – by then at the latest, everyone will have to go home again.
