Lockheed Martin: changes in the Space business

(CercleFinance.com) – Lockheed Martin’s Space business line last night announced upcoming changes ‘to support growth and innovation, gain efficiencies in delivering customer missions and create collaboration stronger with them, suppliers and partners’.

This reorganization follows the recent creation of Lockheed Martin Space’s Ignite organization, an innovation center for rapid capability development.

“These changes allow us to provide end-to-end solutions to meet the mission requirements of today and tomorrow,” said Robert Lightfoot, executive vice president of Lockheed Martin Space.

Lockheed Martin Space will transition from five to three business lines including National Security Space which will integrate the classified and defense portfolios, aligning programs that support military space customers, mission solutions and special programs.

This new team will be led by Vice President and General Manager Maria Demaree, who has a proven track record leading Lockheed Martin Space’s classified and defense portfolio.

Lockheed Martin Space will also set up a product center focused on improving affordability and energy efficiency.
