(CercleFinance.com) – Boeing and Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin company, announce that they have chosen Honeywell as the engine supplier for the DEFIANT X, a helicopter developed as part of the US Army’s Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) program.
Honeywell will supply an HTS7500 turboshaft engine for the DEFIANT X, making the aircraft ‘the fastest, most maneuverable and toughest attack helicopter in history’, according to Boeing.
Sikorsky-Boeing submitted the DEFIANT X proposal under the US Army’s FLRAA program in September 2021. Contract award is expected this year.
