(CercleFinance.com) – Lockheed Martin Skunk Works and Verizon announce they have demonstrated 5G streaming for real-time content viewing on edge computing devices to advance the Department of Defense’s sustainment missions (DOD).
As part of an ongoing strategic collaboration, the companies have validated the three key technology areas of 5G at the forefront of critical interactions, streaming of complex 3D visualization content in real-time, and streaming to edge computing devices.
‘Streaming is the future, and through our strategic collaboration with Verizon, together we are advancing critical 21st century security technologies that drive speed, efficiency, quality and reliability where our customers need it. no longer needed,’ said Marc O’Brien, senior director of Virtual Prototyping at Lockheed Martin Skunk Works.
These technologies can be used in the context of work instructions based on 3D steps, the deployment of augmented/virtual/extended reality content, or even remote assistance.
