If the majority of peripheral manufacturers gaming had already launched into the market for mini-keyboards in 60 and 65% formats (we tested the SteelSeries Apex Pro Mini two years ago, but also the Vulkan mini or the Corsair K70 Pro Mini in particular), Logitech was strangely missing.
To complete its offering, the manufacturer has just launched the G Pro X 60, a mechanical keyboard which uses the codes of its big brother G Pro Small reminder, 60% keyboards do not have a numeric keypad, dedicated multimedia keys, or row of function keys on the top. In such a small format, it’s difficult to stand out from the competition, but the G Pro X 60 has some arguments to make.
To overcome the lack of functionality, Logitech has implemented Keycontrol technology which allows multiple actions on the same key, by simply activating another specific button.
The G Pro X 60 is wireless and can be connected via the 2.4 GHz Lightspeed connector, or via Bluetooth for office use. It is equipped with double-injection PBT keys for better durability, the RGB lighting obviously being customizable key by key. Small bonus, a rigid carrying bag is provided with the keyboard, and there is even a volume wheel on the edge. A rarity in mini formats…
The switches here are optical GX, therefore activated when the key passes in front of a laser beam for excellent precision. You can also choose a linear or tactile rendering for typing. Some competitors offer analog or magnetic switches that allow you to adjust the activation height, but this is not the case here. The switches are not hotswappables (interchangeable); a little regrettable considering the price placement.
You will actually have to pay €200 to play with the Pro X 60, the same price as that of the G Pro The buyer can choose between three colors (black, white or pink). It may be better to wait for promotional periods to benefit from better value for money.
