Logitech Pro X 60 TEST: small keyboard, endless possibilities

Logitech Gbranch gaming from the Swiss manufacturer, has just revealed the Pro X 60, a new wireless keyboard for gamers in 60% formatlacking a number pad, directional keys or keys Function. A very small model, measuring only 29 cm wide and 10.3 cm deep, designed for gaming and designed in collaboration with professional players. Before his presentation, we were able to spend several days with the Pro X60, here is our complete test of the new keyboard Logitech.

The Pro X 60 is designed for e-sports.

When opening the box, it is obvious that the Pro X 60 is made for e-sport. The keyboard comes in a hard carrying case, with a detachable USB-C cable and a Lightspeed dongle which can be stored under the chassis, in a dedicated location. Its format is extremely small, the Pro X 60 knows how to be discreet on the desk, even in white (it also exists in black or pink) and takes up almost no space. A size that surprises and disrupts during the first hours of use, yet the keyboard is packed with features to make it versatile, starting with GX Optical Tactile switches (on this test model), for a fast and precise strike, with excellent rebound to chain commands without downtime.

THE Pro X60 features standard sized keys to change caps however you like, with one key Escape in a different color (a second touch of the same color as the rest is included in the box), for a very sober and classy look. The finish is mainly in white plastic of excellent quality and the keyboard exudes robustness with its 610 grams, which is reassuring for users who will take it to the four corners of the world for LANs. Despite its small size, the Pro X60 has several very useful buttons, including a wheel on the left to adjust the volumethe power and connection buttons (Bluetooth or Lightspeed) at the back or a button to activate the Game Mode to the right. The latter is highlighted and rather rigid, Logitech wanted a button of this style so that players do not accidentally deactivate it in the middle of the game, it fits perfectly into the whole. Only the wheel disturbs the use a little, it is very sensitive and rolls too easily if you move the keyboard to reposition it, watch out for your ears.

Even without 40% of the keys, the Pro X 60 remains complete, thanks to the software G Hub. Of course, Logitech thought of his keyboard as a peripheral plug and play, the main features are directly accessible and the backlighting is a fixed light blue base, at the request of pro gamers who don’t want distracting rainbow LEDs. The key Fn is there to activate the Functions, but also several alternative commands such as directional arrows or multimedia shortcuts. Well, it still requires a little finger gymnastics, but ultimately, everything is already there.

Logitech has thought of everything, thanks to its collaboration with professional players.

Whether with the touch Fn where the G selector (to be assigned on any device Logitech G), it is possible to create personalized shortcuts, up to 15 per key! Yes, even if the Pro X60 loses 40% of the classic keys, G Hub is here to compensate for this lack of traditional touches with these multitudes of possibilities. It’s up to the user to create their own shortcuts and combinations according to their desires and needs, but the software also allows profiles to be downloaded without having to put their hands into it. Finally, G Hub allows you to personalize the backlighting with effects to create yourself or classic settings, but also to modify the behavior of the key Game Mode. By default, it disables the keys Windows And Menuavoiding most blunders in the heat of the moment, but the user can very well deactivate Alt to avoid the Alt-F4 Or Alt-TabFor example.

Finally, a quick word on autonomy. THE Pro X60 is a wireless keyboard, Bluetooth compatible or Lightspeed with a dongle USB, it comes with a long 1m80 cable (not braided, too bad) to plug it in and recharge it via a port located on the back. But charging will not be frequent, because we spent almost a whole week before having to plug in the Pro X 60, Logitech announces autonomy of up to 65 hours depending on the lighting, it’s successful.

If the Pro X60 looks like any other 60% model, you have to admit that Logitech designed it with care. The Swiss manufacturer has thought of everything, thanks to its collaboration with professional players, in order to create a compact and ultra-complete keyboard. Whether in terms of careful finishing, fast and pleasant typing, easily accessible dedicated keys or the numerous combinations to create via G Hub, the Pro X 60 proves to be an excellent wireless keyboard for gamers who move often, or simply users who can do without 40% of the keys and who are looking for a model that is discreet on the desk. However, as soon as you have to type text, the 60% format very quickly shows its limits, the Pro X60 of Logitech is therefore above all designed for gamingbut he does it very well.
