Logitech’s cloud gaming console looks like a toy

In early August 2022, Logitech surprised everyone by formalizing the arrival, at the end of the year, of a portable console exclusively designed for cloud gaming. The manufacturer had shown nothing of this platform, which is the result of a merger with the Chinese giant Tencent. Thanks to a tweet from reputable leaker Evan Blassshared on August 30, we can discover the design of this console with unknown characteristics.

This Logitech console sports a more “toy” than gaming design, in the wake of a Nintendo Switch Lite – a way of undoubtedly attracting the general public a little more. The white color attests to it, as well as the very simplistic shapes. The photos seem to indicate an object with more modest measurements than Valve’s huge Steam Deck.

What does the design of Logitech’s console tell us?

Logitech has made some interesting choices in terms of ergonomics, beyond the size which would be closer to that of an OLED Switch.

We can note :

• Asymmetrical sticks, dear to the Xbox (and Nintendo) ecosystem;
• The presence of a slight grip – small grooves – on the two buttons on the edge and the triggers (to better grip the index finger);
• The presence of two small handles on the lower part, which should hug the palms (again, there is a grip).

On the other hand, the large borders around the screen are not very elegant. Another detail: there does not seem to be a compartment to accommodate a SIM card, which suggests that the console will be satisfied with Wi-Fi for the connectivity part. That would be a big oversight.

Finally, the images show elements of the interface. As expected, the Logitech console will provide access to Microsoft (Xbox Game Pass) and Nvidia (GeForce Now) services. We also discover the logos of other applications linked to the Google ecosystem (YouTube, Chrome, etc.), which can be downloaded from the Play Store. The most observant will notice the absence of Stadia, which was already not mentioned in the initial press release.
