Tuesday, at 8:30 p.m., the firefighters were called to intervene for an ammonia leak (gas + liquid) in a building of the BVF company, located in the Fraries industrial zone in Saint-Paul-en- Jarez.
A security perimeter had to be set up and the industrial bakery company evacuated. Around 10:30 p.m., the firefighters – around thirty in total, including a unit specializing in chemical risks from Saint-Étienne – (1) had not yet succeeded in stopping the leak from a tank containing 8 tonnes of ammonia. No injuries were to be deplored at the same time.
