Loki season 2: Kang is the big bad in the trailer for the Marvel series

Season 2 of Loki is unveiled with a first trailer rich in time travel and surprises: the return of Kang (Jonathan Majors) to the Marvel universe is official!

The hour draws near for the God of Malice. The second season of Loki, expected on October 6 on Disney+, is unveiled with a promising first trailer rich in time travel. The God of Mischief (Tom Hiddleston) returns to the TVA (Tribunal of Anachronistic Variations) after the catastrophic events unleashed at the end of the inaugural season.

Sylvie (Sofia Di Martino) has indeed killed “He who remains”, the creator of TVA, bringing about a new multiversal war. But the various broken timelines (which have consequences for the Marvel Cinematic Universe films that came out after Loki’s first season) also have consequences for the character played by Tom Hiddleston.

The latter is the victim of temporal wanderings and seems to be transported from one timeline to another without his having control of it; which prevents him from advancing properly in his quest for balance in the Multiverse. Even OB, a TVA technician, played by the brilliant Ke Huy Quan (Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Everything Everywhere All At Once) cannot help him.

Fortunately, Loki can count on Mobius Mr. Mobius (Owen Wilson) to find answers because, in the different timelines, there are as many enemies as allies, such as Sylvie, the B-15 Hunter (Wunmi Mosaku), the Judge Renslayer (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), Miss Minutes and many others… like Kang!

Jonathan Majors Confirmed in Loki Season 2 Cast

Super villain in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and proclaimed great antagonist of the MCU’s Phase V, Kang the Conqueror is played by Jonathan Majors, who had already slipped into the skin of “He who remains”.

The actor was not present in the images unveiled to the American press during the Disney upfronts last May and rumors suggested that he had been fired from his role following his arrest in March in New York.

Jonathan Majors has indeed been accused of strangulation, assault and harassment by his companion. And since then, a long investigation, published in RollingStonehighlighted the testimonies of several ex-girlfriends of the actor who expressed his psychological and physical violence.

Several film studios have distanced themselves from the actor, who has also lost advertising contracts. But Disney and Marvel seem to continue their collaboration with Jonathan Majors, at least for season 2 of Loki because we imagine the waste of time and money for the studios if they had to choose another actor to make him return the scenes of Kang.

Season 2 of Loki arrives October 6 for weekly streaming on Disney+.
