LoL: A buff from Pyke turns him into a killing machine

Do you find League of Legends Champion Pyke’s ultimate terrifying? A buff in the test phase could well give him an infinite scaling!

Since arriving on Summoner’s Rift, Pyke has been a divisive champion. While some players love the Abyss Ripper and its unique support assassin aspect with exceptional playmaking potential, many summoners hate it.

For Riot Games, Pyke is a real headache. Indeed, this champion with a very particular design is struggling to find its place in the meta as a support. With each small buff, it is of course on the solo lanes that Pyke sows terror thanks to its kill potential and hallucinating roaming.

However, Riot Games is far from having tried everything to bring the Ripper into the ranks. Indeed, the game designer Riot Captain Gameplay has announced an upcoming modification on the PBE server… and the Pyke haters have something to bite their fingers

Pyke gains infinite scaling on LoL’s PBE server

Several champions have abilities that can scale infinitely. Veigar and Nasus are the kings of the category, but Pyke might just join them in this tight club of late-game monsters.

Indeed, Riot Games will test a new feature for Pyke, allowing him to infinitely increase the execution threshold of his ultimate.

It’s extremely experimental, but tomorrow Pyke will gain infinite scaling on his R execution threshold whenever he executes anything with any means.

While at first glance you might think that Pyke will simply increase his execution threshold each time he eliminates a champion with his ultimate, this new mechanic is actually much more terrifying. Indeed, there are many ways to execute champions like minions or monsters in LoL.

With infinite scaling, Pyke could become a late game terror

These include the Steel Shoulderguards support item and its evolution, which executes minions with 50% or less HP and is already the most popular starter item on Pyke support.

Looking a little further, we find the Perceptor, which in addition to granting lethality, which Pyke loves, gives the opportunity to execute champions with less than 5% of their HP.

Nevertheless, the most effective execution tool to raise this threshold to mind-blowing levels is unquestionably the Solar Aegis. If we tend to forget, it is important to note that the immolation effect executes minions with low HP. If this interaction works as one would expect, Pyke Top or Pyke Mid could easily accumulate dozens of executions, to increase to mind-blowing amounts the execution threshold of its R.

It’s important to remember that this Pyke buff is just a test done on the PBE server. Not only is it too early to judge its impact on the champion’s effectiveness, its potential arrival on the live server is highly uncertain.
