LoL: A community survey on the state of the game, yields interesting results

A month ago, Reddit user Tannir48 created a poll for LoL players to express their feelings about the game. This poll has been posted on many specialized reddits and discords, while trying to maintain some fairness so that each category is represented. Thus the survey ended up on 5 reddit of tanks, 5 of assassins, 5 of ADC (mainly shooters), 5 of fighters (bruisers), 5 of enchanters and 2 of specialized characters. Besides the difference in gameplay, the poll was also broken down based on player rankings, to compare low-level and high-level sensations.

Premiums

Regarding the elimination bonuses for champions who dominate the game and/or neutral objectives, as well as the plate system on the outer towers, the community is rather happy. The answer: it’s very good like that, and it must stay like that even obtained the absolute majority (more than 50% of the answers) at the level of bounties for champions (66.5%), and tower plates (82.3% ). Although the community was more mixed on neutral objective bonuses, the result still highlights the status quo, with 39.8% of players believing that nothing should be changed. In addition, players with no opinion on the question are relatively numerous in this category with 16.1% of players who did not choose one of the answers offered, ie at least three times more than in the other categories.

game mechanics

In terms of damage, the majority of players think it’s too high. This is an opinion shared at all ranks, except perhaps in challenger where the results are more mixed. Even though the answer saying that the damage is currently too high was the most chosen, it is the only rank where it did not have an absolute majority, with “only” 48% of challenger players.

Mobility is also considered too high, in the majority of cases (59.6%). However, it is necessary to temper, by specifying that contrary to the damage, it was rarer that it reached the absolute majority in the panel of answers. It is moreover at the two extremes of the ranks (Iron, Bronze/Grand Master, Challenger) that the results were the most uncertain. Heals have similar overall scores (55.7% of players rate them as overpowering), but this time there are mixed reviews based on rank. 47% of players in the lower ranks find them too strong, compared to 60% in the higher ranks. The resistances are rather considered balanced at all Elos.

Concerning the dragons, the results are unanimous. Fire and Hextech souls are the most powerful for the majority of players, with a breakthrough of the Mountain dragon, very popular in Grandmaster and Challenger. On the other hand, the soul considered the weakest is that of the Clouds, and this does not matter the rank.

What if Kayle ventured into the Void? In any case, this is what an artist from the League of Legends community has imagined by offering us a skin concept that could even scare Bel’Veth, the powerful empress who is soon arriving in the Summoner’s Rift.
