After a month-long hiatus, Riot Games is resuming the normal rhythm of its League of Legends patches. As 12.6 arrives tonight – including a fairly substantial rework for Rengar, but also the brand new Anima Squad skins – the studio unveiled this evening the future cosmetics coming to Summoner’s Rift.
5 new Arcane Champions
Be careful not to confuse the Arcana theme with that of the Arcanists, already well established in the Summoner’s Rift. This is a completely different range. She was able to surprise last year when she launched in April 2021 for a simple reason: it was the first time that Xerath, the Supreme Mage, appeared bareheaded. On all of his other skins, he consistently wears a helmet that conceals his facial features. Some players had a little trouble recognizing him at first glance.
It’s not really a surprise to see this family return – Riot Games announced it during its blog presenting the skins and themes to come in 2022 on League of Legends. After the return of the bees in February, it is therefore the arcane cosmetics that are making their big comeback in the Rift. This set had had some success when it was launched – in particular because it tackled a completely new theme.
For this second salvo on this theme, 5 champions have been chosen: Ahri, Xayah, Rakan, Ryze and Hecarim. The lover couple will therefore again have a pair of matching skins and the nine-tailed fox will receive its 15th appearance. – and as much to be honest, here, we find that it slaps.
Pricing hasn’t been announced yet (i.e. if there’s a legendary in the bundle) and these 5 skins will enter the PBE for a two-week testing phase — to arrive in Summoner’s Rift with patch 12.7, which will be implemented on April 13.
It’s been several months since season 1 of Arcane ended and it will take a long time to discover season 2. League of Legends.
