LoL: A first look at Aurelion Sol’s new skills

One of League of Legends’ most exciting projects for the remainder of Season 12 is the Aurelion Sol revamp. The studio is looking to revamp the champion’s gameplay by changing all of his abilities and showed a new preview of his progress. A decision that surprised the community. Not only have the developers managed to transform the character into a real dragon, but they seem to be progressing at a very good pace and are ready to surprise us much sooner than expected with its launch on live servers.

An Aurelion Sol more dragon than ever

The Starforger’s MGC (Complete Gameplay Update) is well underway, and the first in-game videos should arrive soon — once the team finishes working on the champion’s visuals.

One of the objectives of this redesign was to strengthen its dragon side… And Riot Games did not go easy on it.

New A of Aurelion Sol allows him to breathe fire as long as he has mana. But not only that, he can also fly! His new W allows him to soar through the skies. But this time, he won’t have to walk in a straight line for an eternity. He will be able to fly just by pressing a key.

But since he is a dragon, there is something even more incredible than flying or spitting fire: it is flying WHILE SPITTING fire!

We also knew about another of Aurelion Sol’s new skills (unveiled last month).

Aurelion Sol will increase in size over the course of the game. He won’t grow like some sort of draconic Cho’Gath, but his abilities will make him grow. As the minutes pass or he levels up, the space he is able to control will increase dramatically, reaching the point of casting a spell capable of occupying an entire lane (only in width).

League of Legends

All of these revelations give us a pretty good idea of Aurelion Sol’s future. It remains to be seen what the developers still have in store for us, or if they will somehow want to include the iconic stars that revolve around the champion, which we haven’t heard of until now. Either way, the release is expected to take place sometime in 2022, after the newly announced champion. The gameplay and the new spells seem finished and all that remains is to polish the visual effects of his kit.

Like every summer, Riot Games has delivered a lot of information on its plans for the end of the season but also the preseason! The studio notably revealed a lot of information about the next champion: a tank coming straight from Shurima and destined for the top lane.
