For the Sentinels of Light event, last year’s summer event on all Riot Games games, the studio had reserved a new temporary game mode for League of Legends: Ultimate Grimoire. And very good news since this famous mode should make its big comeback with the next patch, 12.13.
What is Ultimate Grimoire?
Forget about Healing, Fatigue, or even Ignition — in this crazy game mode, you have the option of replacing one of your two Summoner Spells with… another champion’s ultimate skill. Ever dreamed of finding out what Dr. Mundo would do if he possessed Olaf’s ultimate? Do you secretly dream of being able to play Yuumi while spamming Xerath’s heavy artillery in the greatest calm? Well, it’s now possible, thanks to Grimoire Ultime or Ultimate Spellbook in English. At the start of the game, you will have 30 seconds to choose, among three proposals, an ultimate skill that will replace one of your Summoner Spells.
The queue is Blind, which means you can play any champion without the risk of being banned, however only 39 ultimate skills are available at the moment. That still leaves thousands of possibilities.
The mode has been a great success in the past, in particular thanks to totally crazy combinations which have greatly amused the players.
The game mode should be available with the big summer event planned by the studio. Patch 12.13 will bring Nilah, the all-new short-range ADC, as well as the all-new batch of Star Guardian-themed skins. This update is scheduled for Wednesday, July 13, 2022, according to Riot Games’ official schedule.
