LoL: Bjergsen and Doublelift reunited again for 2023?

Double lift is a League of Legends legend. If internationally he has often struggled, in North America his CV is impressive. He thus managed to be champion of his region with no less than 3 teams: CLG, TSM and Team Liquid. Often competed with Bjergsen, the other behemoth of the LCS, the American has above all formed a legendary duo with the Dane. The two are close off the field, the (first) retreat of the midlaner had precipitated that of the ADC.

Since then, Bjergsen had returned to the field, for a contrasting 2022 season. On the side of Doublelift, however, it was radio silence. Busy streaming, we haven’t seen him in competition since Worlds 2020 and a scathing 0-6 in chickens. But while his fans demand his return to each transfer window, this time it could be the right one. He would have found a team for 2023 with the added bonus of a reunion with his former teammate.

Already a superteam at 100 Thieves?

The team that will have drawn the jackpot is 100 Thieves. Present at the Worlds this year and regularly on the LCS podium in recent years, she would have decided to bet on this veteran duo to go even higher. On paper it’s very attractive, but it’s still a little risky. Bjergsen and Doublelift are no longer very young and we do not know if they still have the level to dominate the NA region… The ADC has only known soloQ and Champions Queue for 2 years, so it could cruelly lack of rhythm.

But Tenacity and Busio would be promoted to 100 Thieves. The young 19-year-old toplaner will lower the average age and could bring the aggressiveness specific to youth. Renowned for his mechanics and his individual level of play, he could also greatly benefit from the advice of his elders. For Support, we have less information about him, but he is also very young. Finally, according to the latest news, Closer would be retained. As a good jungler, he will provide a bridge between the two generations.

Bad news for Unforgiven

Wooloo had announced that Unforgiven had made a deal to play at 100 Thieves, but we hadn’t decided on his place: team one or team two. If Doublelift’s recruitment is confirmed, the Swede seems doomed to play in the LCS Academy… It makes us a little sad and we can talk about a waste. After a very good year as a rookie in the LEC which led him to Worlds, we now fear that he will bury himself forever in NA.

esport-lol

It is possible that League of Legends is not the game preferred by professional players. After winning the Worlds, a player rushed home to enjoy an event on a mobile game, rather than savoring his victory with his partners.
