It’s official, the next season of LOL: Who laughs comes out! on Prime Video will not count Blanche Gardin in the cast.

The comedian split a long message on Facebook to explain his refusal… by tackling the platform (and Jeff Bezos) in the throat.

LOL: Blanche Gardin absent from season 4

Amazon’s Prime Video platform has been allowing subscribers to enjoy the show for two years LOL: Who laughs comes out hosted by Philippe Lacheau and whose principle is to invite ten actors or comedians for six hours in a loft, and to make others laugh, but never to laugh yourself.

In total, three seasons have been broadcast, with ever more prestigious participants such as Kyan Khojandi, Tarek Boudali, Gérard Darmon, Éric and Ramzy, and more recently Pierre Niney, Laura Felpin, Jonathan Cohen, François Damiens, Virginie Efira and Paul Mirabel.

A season 4 is obviously planned, and the organizers are already offering new actors to join the loft. Each participant is paid, but also plays for an association. In case of victory, the latter receives the tidy sum of 50,000 euros.

However, on Facebook, actress Blanche Gardin refused the invitation to participate in the next season of the game, while revealing certain details… and castigating Amazon’s processes.

Update April 24, 2023: Right of reply Amazon France

The Amazon company, through an Amazon France spokesperson, wanted to provide a right of reply: “ Madame Blanche Gardin’s statement posted on social media contains false and inaccurate comments about Amazon. For more than two decades, we have been striving to earn the trust of our customers in France by contributing to the dynamism of the territories, by offering excellent quality service, a wide range of products and low prices, despite the increase of the cost of living. »

In addition, Amazon France recalls having achieved a turnover of 9 billion euros in 2021, for a tax contribution of one billion euros that same year. As for its local investment, Amazon promises to have invested more than 16 billion euros in its activities in France since 2010, without forgetting its commitment to the fight against climate change, the support of more than 13,000 French companies, as well as ‘A ” safe and modern working environment offered to more than 20,000 Amazon employees in France.

LOL : 200,000 euros for a day of filming?

Indeed, in a message for the less committed, the actress wanted to point the finger at the processes of the American platform, and in particular “ the salary of 200,000 euros for a day’s work which would have been proposed to him.

The actress says she is embarrassed to receive this sum from a company that does not pay its taxes in France, which emits 55.8 million tonnes of greenhouse gases per year, which destroys jobs in small businesses while by creating grueling jobs in dehumanized warehouses…

Through her long Facebook post, Blanche Gardin indicates in particular: “ It also happens that I would be embarrassed to the bones (not to say that it would downright hurt my ass) to be paid 200,000 euros for a day’s work even if I lose at your game, when the association charity of my choice would win 50,000 euros, that is to say 4 times less, and again, only if I win. »

Note that the text signed Blanche Gardin comes just a few hours after the revelations of Bloomberg concerning a vast communication plan to come at Amazon in France. The “Ratatouille” project would indeed aim to reconcile the French with the American e-commerce giant through various highly targeted operations. Not sure that the actress is very sensitive to it…

Prime Video

  • Fairly reasonable subscription price
  • Direct access to other services
  • X-Ray functionality

With its subscription price still (slightly) more attractive than the others, Prime Video is a very interesting SVoD solution. If it still lacks a few additional flagship series to be able to be fully compared to Netflix, the platform offers a varied and sufficiently rich catalog to keep you busy for a while. It also pulls out of the game with its X-Ray functionality and excellent video quality which can help forgive a few bugs here and there.
