After heavy criticism of the schedule and the selection of players, the coach of the Korean LoL team at the Asian Games has withdrawn his request for resignation and is confirmed by KeSPA.

The KeSPA took a while to break the news, probably because negotiations with the head coach of the Korean team for the Asian Games 2022. Finally, after a few days of tense discussions, the news broke: the multiple Korean champion kk0ma, ex-head coach of DWG KIA, will remain at the head of the national team for the sports competition of the end of the year, on League of Legends. Kim “kkOma” Jeong-gyun wanted to resign, very critical of the process of selecting his players and the schedule imposed by the Korean esports federation.

In a press release, the federation tried to calm things down by explaining in particular that the schedule for the exhibition match and the training camp had been decided before the signing of the manager. In the end, the latter will have to name the 6 players (5 holders and 1 substitute) among the 10 selected in the beginning of maybased on the performances of the 2022 season but also of the training camp.

We will do everything we can to ensure that the esport selection brings joy and pride to our country.

Statements that also target kk0ma and the thank for reconsidering his will to quit, saying he was working for the sole purpose of bringing pride to South Korea and that the sub-committee should not be held responsible for any scheduling issues. It will be this sub-committee, in line with the coach, who will decide on the 6 people who will represent the country in LoL at the Asian Games 2022.
