LoL: Elise, back in the meta soon?


Changes in League of Legends are (almost) always done for the better to balance the meta, as on many occasions we’ve seen broken champions get nerfed enough to make the champion pool of a particular role more varied. Who doesn’t remember the hellish interference of Udyr and Hecarim in every competitive game in the first half of 2021? The changes were almost immediate and, as MSI approached, the pool of champions in the jungle changed for the better and we were thus able to (re)discover Dianas, Rumble or Morgana.

While it is true that many champions have been pretty strong in the meta for a while, some characters haven’t appeared fully in the competitive circuit for a long time — although they occasionally make a noticeable inroads depending on particular match-ups. But he does have a champion who was the real queen of Summoner’s Rift several seasons ago and is now completely gone, and that’s Elise.

Riot Games, arachnophobe?

The Spider Queen hasn’t been a popular choice for nearly three years due to the various changes she went through throughout 2020 that left her pretty much dead so far. But then, why could Elise make her comeback on the front of the stage? Well, simply because of a bug.

As the user Tormentula was able to share it on Reddit, with the arrival of the latest patch one bug has been discovered that allows Elise to use her E – Suspension “globally”. This does not mean that you can teleport anywhere on the map, rather that you can choose any location within the spell’s range limit (you no longer need to target an enemy).

This allows the champion to be much more oppressive and, above all, to be able to jump many walls on the map, which was previously not possible. It remains to be seen whether Riot Games will act against this bug, since this is indeed a bug and not a buff. One would hope that the studio would let it go, especially when you see the spell kits of the latest champions which are nightmares in terms of mobility. The Spider Queen has fallen into oblivion, is chosen only 1.8% of the time (129th in terms of popularity) and boasts a small all-tier win rate of 49.3%. So we want to say, come on rito, let it pass this time.

As an expected consequence with the collapse of the ruble in Russia, the price of Riot Points has reached a historically low conversion rate on the League of Legends Russian server.
