LoL: Finally a glimpse of Norra, Yuumi’s missing mistress?

Legends of Runeterra — Riot Games’ card game inspired by League of Legends — will soon welcome a new expansion. On February 16, players will be able to discover The Great Adventure and its new characters. Coming straight from the MOBA, Yuumi will arrive, accompanied by her friends (the assistant librarian, the erudite climber, the Oridragon or even the particular parchment), but this is not what interests us here.

On the official splashart of the extension, where the chatounet takes the main place, we can see a silhouette in the background which escapes through a portal. Could it be his mistress Norra, long gone?

Norra, long awaited in the rift

Yuumi’s mistress has been talked about a lot since the introduction of the cat into the rift. If she is mentioned in the stories of the champion, we have not yet had confirmation of her appearance.

We had hoped for it at the beginning of last year. Remember in the Fallen King story arc, it was confirmed that a Yordle would join the rift and—though many clues pointed in its direction—it was ultimately Vex who arrived.

Wouldn’t that be Norra fleeing through a portal?

However, Riot Games could well and truly introduce Norra to League of Legends one day. It is moreover a will of the studio: to integrate characters already present in the lore in the rift of the summoner. If this were to happen one day, we would therefore already have an idea of its appearance (admittedly concise since only from behind). However, there is little chance that the studio will release it in the coming months or even this year, the champions’ action plan having already been communicated. After Renata, who will occupy the support position, we should have the right to a Nether jungler and then a Shurima tank. She could also just NEVER make it to LoL.

It’s easy to think that the silhouette seen in the background of the splashart is that of Norra surrendering “in a place so dangerous that she had decided to destroy the portal behind her”. We would therefore witness the separation between Yuumi – too busy fooling around with her friends – and her mistress. It is even written in his biography the circumstances of his departure: “Yuumi paid relatively little attention to this book, until the day when she returned from a hunt for moon butterflies and discovered that Norra had disappeared. She found the grimoire on her mistress’s desk and, worried, looked through the pages, noting that some had been torn out.”

If Riot Games has taken the time to integrate it into its visuals, we can imagine that the studio has plans for it. Aside from Vex, Yordles have been rare in the rift for a few years (the last one was in 2016, it was Kled). We would love to see one again in the future.

The results of the community vote have fallen and the community has decided! It is finally the gothic skins that will soon make their return to League of Legends – to the detriment of the infernals and the marauders.
