LoL: First bomb dropped in LCK, a legend will leave its heart structure!

After a complicated period of ups and downs, an LCK title at the Summer Split, and a Worlds semi-final loss to future world champions, it’s no exaggeration to say that Gen. G. had a good season. However, the structure started its transfer window with difficult news for it and its fans: Ruler has decided to terminate his contract as a player in this organization which has accompanied him for a large part of his career.

The announcement

The organization itself has posted a video to say goodbye to her iconic player on the League of Legends stage. Ruler was the face of this structure, pulling it upwards since the acquisition of the slot by KSV (which will rename itself in Gen. G. at the Summer Split 2018). As a reminder, the Gen.G. is that of former SSGthe very team that had become world champion by ending SKT hegemony. Ruler had been part of this adventure, alongside CuVee, Ambition, Haru, Crown and CoreJJ. Since then, the ADC had remained faithful to this team, and a large part of the project was built around him.

A withdrawal worthy of NBA stars

After their declaration saying that the player and the structure would no longer share a common future, the American organization has decided to remove number 1 of their jerseys, the number that Ruler wore. One of Gen.G’s shareholders is Chris Bosh, a former NBA player and two-ring winner with the Miami Heat, so it’s not impossible that he played some role in the decision.

Ruler will leave a huge void in the organization after years of good and loyal service. Gen.G. has not yet announced who will be the replacement for his ADC. It is possible that other players will also leave the structure because the contracts of Peanut, Doran and Lehends all end within ten days. Ruler’s next destination is also unknown, but no doubt he will receive great offers from the LCK, the LPL and even the LCS. According to some rumors, DAMWON Kia would be very interested in the player, but nothing has yet corroborated these rumors.

Ruler’s track record with Gen.G

  • An LCK Championship title
  • Two second places and two third places
  • A semi-final of the Worlds
  • A split MVP title
  • A regular season MVP title
  • Three All Stars LCK First Team Nominations
  • Two All Stars LCK Secondary Team Nominations
