LoL: French in LCS; Hans at the top, Toucouille provides the essentials

Hans and his teammates finally managed to catch up with the C9s and snatch first place in the standings, thanks in particular to a slump from their rivals who had a difficult last week. As for the Flyquest de Toucouille, they only needed a victory to secure their place in the playoffs, but it was not until the last of the three meetings that they won it, against the C9. A qualification and a first place offered to Hans by his compatriot, quite a symbol.

Scoring scale out of 10:

  • 0: played Yuumi jungle (why dude, why??)
  • 1: Human Ward
  • 2: Poor performance, unworthy of an LCS player
  • 3-4: Below expected level / made big mistakes
  • 5: Average / alternated between excellent and mediocre
  • 6-7: Solid on his support, the player was one of the driving forces of the collective
  • 8-9: Not content with outclassing his direct opponent(s), the player has had the luxury of making crazy moves
  • 9.5: 1v9 god, with moves at 200 IQ
  • 10: If perfection had a name, it would have its own
  • 11: 1v9 god, moves at 200 IQ while playing Yuumi jungle

Hans never misses his target

This week has been quite special for the Habs, who have abandoned hard carries for a more support-oriented pick by playing Ashe exclusively. The queen of Frejlord focuses more on engages with her ultimate and on the contribution of CC in teamfight, than on pure damage, in particular because of her rather average range for an ADC and her lack of escape. Hans was able to play around that, and fulfilled his role perfectly, but it was his teammates who shone more. It even happened that despite the victories, he inflicts less damage than his direct opponent. Add to that that Ashe, without being bad, is not a champion who dominates the early game enormously, and we arrive at very good performances but nothing exceptional either. This pick nevertheless had the merit of showing how formidable Team Liquid can be, as the team managed to further expand its range of strategies. Mission accomplished for Hans, because the main thing has been done: his team finished first in the regular season.

Toucouille, the paradox

The week has been very complicated for the former LFL player. He did very well with Ahri against Evil Geniuses, totally asphyxiating his direct opponent, but Impact was way too strong on Graves, and the Flyquest never managed to find the solution to counter him. The defeat was not necessarily deserved for Toucouille, but League of Legends is played at 5, so this kind of mishap happens sooner or later. And repeats itself. The Frenchman fought with all his might against Immortals to keep his team in the game, but his teammates crumbled. It was the kind of game that could be described as 1v5, this moment when the team is only holding together thanks to one player. His Viktor inflicted the most damage in the game, but his partners had already cracked. Paradoxically, his performance with Vex in the final round of the regular season was rather average, but his teammates were there to compensate. A great lesson in karma, which allowed the team to reach the playoffs. Moreover, by refusing to give up and finally taking a game from those who had been leading the way for most of the split, the Flyquest showed a mental toughness that could be the difference in the playoffs.

We had to wait for the first tiebreak for Toucouille to finally win a victory in style in the last week. Sa Orianna was pixel perfect, and the main asset of the team. The composition of the Flyquest certainly put it in a very good position, but it was still necessary to transform the test, which Toucouille managed to do. On the other hand, the final tiebreak did not succeed for the Flyquest, who again fell on EGs stronger than them. The difference between Impact and Kumo certainly weighed heavily, but this time Toucouille didn’t really manage to float, and sank with his partners. The essentials have been assured, but if the team wants to go far in the playoffs, it will have to be inspired by Goku and become stronger after having been close to death.

On League of Legends, we can witness all kinds of curiosities… And some are monstrous. Poor Corki probably didn’t expect to face a Yuumi in mid. The bloodthirsty cat even inflicted a humiliating 1v1 on him in the first minutes of the game.
