Right in the middle of the League of Legends world championships, the developers then unveiled the new features for the 2022 pre-season. We think in particular of the arrival of objective bonuses, allowing the team behind to catch up or again to the new objects that have made their entrance. And of course, there are also the two new elemental dragons that have arrived in the game: the dragon hextech and the dragon Techno-Chemical. Their arrival on the pitch was synonymous with three changes on the pitch:

• The Techno-Chemical Dragon: when it enters the game, it grants 5% additional damage per cumulative effect corresponding to the number of heroes with more health points than the champion, while making camouflage zones appear in the jungle. Once defeated, the dragon gives up its soul and allows the team to have a fleeting second life upon their death.
• The Hextech Dragon: when it enters the game, it grants 5 skill acceleration and +5% attack speed per cumulative effect and causes Hextech rifts to appear allowing you to move faster on the map. Defeated, the dragon offers a power inflicting damage and slowing enemies.

Techno-Chemical Dragon disabled, impossible to balance?

And according to Riot Games, the Techno-Chemical dragon is a source of frustration for many players. A frustration big enough and reported that Riot announced last night on Twitter and in a press release to have deactivated the techno-chemical dragon, its soul and its terrain.

A decision whose explanation is to be found on their official website. Initially, the team explains that it has integrated Dragon Techno-Chimique “with the goal of making it stronger than the four basic elemental dragons“. Obviously, the soul of the dragon (which gives a temporary second life to heroes) has been an object of contention whose multiple modifications have failed to win over the community.. However, Riot explains not to give up on the idea:

While the Tech-Chem Dragon and its functionality will be disabled, we’ll be testing design changes to fix the issues of the current builds, while still keeping the spirit of what we wanted to achieve. Our first field of action will be the field. It may take us some time, in the sense that the techno-chemical dragon may not return soon.

A change effective this week in major competitions such as the LEC.
