LoL: Halloween is coming to PBE 12.20 with 5 new Witch skins

It’s almost Halloween on League of Legends! Like every year, Riot Games spoils us with dedicated skins to shiver a little in the rift. And for this 2021 edition, summoners will have something to enjoy since 5 new skins have been unveiled for the occasion. Make way for a new assembly of witches with Cassiopeia, LeBlanc, Anivia, Neeko and Senna.

More… witches

This has been the tradition for several years now, each Halloween has its own skins. After a rather light 2020 with only two new appearances, Amumu Pumpkin Prince, and 5 witch skins in 2021, Riot Games is back with… witches, five more, and still logically with only female champions.

This year, Cassiopeia, LeBlanc, Anivia, Neeko and Senna were chosen.

  • Anivia : The cryophenix receives its 12th skin, 13 months after the last one (Divine Phoenix)
  • Cassiopeia : She had been waiting for 418 days. Despite being released in 2010, this will only be his eighth skin.
  • The White : A little less than 300 days after LeBlanc Seductress, the champion receives her 11th skin on the theme of the witch… even though she already has one on the theme of the Assembly.
  • Neeko : Good news for curious Chameleon lovers who have been waiting for a new skin for more than 600 days.
  • Senna : Riot’s new darling? In only three years, she received seven skins, and waited only 160 days since the last one (Senna of the Lunar Eclipse which in addition has a prestige edition).

All of these new skins will be coming to League of Legends with the next patch, 12.20, scheduled for October 19, 2022 according to the official Riot Game schedule.

Bis and repeat?

We had already pointed it out last year, but Riot Games seems to be in need of inspiration as Halloween approaches. It’s been two years in a row that we have skins exclusively on female champions and on the Sorceress theme. Not that cosmetics do not seem successful, far from it, but both in the colors, the finishes, we have the impression of seeing the same work as in 2021.

League of Legends

In the past, Riot Games has been able to regale us with other Halloween inspirations. Headless Hecarim, pumpkin Fiddlesticks or even zombie Ryze, there is a lot to choose from and yet the studio only seems to have eyes for witches.

And even Anivia, who clearly has the features of a bat… is a witch. Why not Anivia, bloodsucking cryophenix, a much more vampire-inspired theme that would suit him better? Whether it’s zombies, decapitated champions like Hecarim, vampires and others, we would like to see these themes return in the rift and on recent champions (but not Senna, why Senna by the way, why???). And you what do you think ? Do Halloween skins lack originality over the seasons?

Future changes to Syndra may very well alter the way she is played. His new kit could be much more effective on a lane other than the midlane.
