The 10 players shortlisted for the LoL competition at the Asian Games have been announced. Six of them will be chosen to represent South Korea at the end of the year.

Committed to Asian Games 2022 for the esports scene which will be represented for the first time, the South Korea will notably participate in the League of Legends competition. For this, the coach kk0ma has been named team coach by KeSPA and has therefore just revealed the 10 players pre-selected to be part of the official selection who will be able to play for an Olympic title from September 10 to 25, 2022 in Hangzhou, China.

We find in this list no less than 5 T1 players, which is hardly surprising given that the team had a historic first half of the season, the first in the LCK to finish the split unbeaten, also breaking several individual and collective records. Zeus, Oner, Gumayuzi, Faker and Keria are therefore obviously favorites to remain in the group, but they will be put in competition with Kiin from the Freecs, but also must-haves in Korea: Canyon from DWG KIA, Chovy from Gen.G, or Deft and Beryl from DRX.

By June, kk0ma will have to select its roster of 5 holders and 1 substitute for the official competition. According to KeSPA, which will evaluate the players, they will have to undergo a strict evaluation process, which ranges from ability to handle pressure to team rankings, to their participation in South Korea’s brand image. As a reminder, the country will play the Asian Games 2022 esports competition with 4 other teams: FIFA 22, Hearthstone, Street Fighter V and PUBG Mobile.
