LoL: LEC/LFL debut upset for Misfits Gaming

the Spring Split of the LFL kept all its promises and we had the right to a season full of twists and turns. The foxes of LDLC OL were crowned champions of France, surprising many observers and even if the Karmine Corp. took a little time to set up, the team ended the spring well by winning the EUM again.

After a short break, the French League of Legends league is back this week. Several teams have changed their roster and we can’t wait to discover the new faces of the league. One structure experienced a particularly turbulent transfer window: Misfits Premier. Between departures and arrivals, the team is forced to tinker for the recovery.

Misfits Premier, still looking for a top laner

The information had leaked for a few weeks and unsurprisingly, we learned that Joel “Irrelevant“Miro Scharoll had been promoted to the LEC from the academy team. Logically, former Misfits Gaming starter, Korean Shin”HiRit” Tae-min had to go the opposite way to find the LFL, a championship he knows well having won it twice in the past with LDLC OL. However, the plan did not go as planned… The Korean would be homesick and for personal reasons he asked to return home. We don’t have more details, but the Rabbits find themselves without a top lane for their academy team…

While waiting to find a quality replacement, knowing that the timing is quite complicated to manage, Misfits will play Irrelevant in LEC and in LFL for recovery. He will therefore have a maximum of playing time but also a maximum of fatigue!

A snowball effect in the rosters

This small setback may seem insignificant. But the consequences could be profound in the strategy and state of form of the two teams. Everyone remembers the case of saken during his time at Team Vitality. The Frenchman had been forced to double LEC and LFL and he had finished on the kneecaps. It is difficult to chain so many matches, especially since you have to get used to two significantly different styles of play… For Irrelevant, so it will be the summer of all dangers. It’s not the same to play with Shlatan (team 1) or with Zanzarah (team 2).

Finally, the departure of HiRit redistributes the cards within Misfits Premier. The Korean was taking the place of a ‘veteran’ as he has played at least 2 of his last 3 major league splits. A team ERL can have a maximum of 2 veterans on a game sheet. Now that he’s been pushed aside, Vandercould potentially keep his place at Misfits Premier when he was expected as a coach.

lfl-lol

The Summer Split of the French League of Legends Championship is fast approaching. Teams now have a reputation to uphold, to ensure the EU Masters trophy stays home in 2022. Team Oplon have announced the first members of their summer squad.
