LoL – Patch 12.22: Astro-groove skins are back

Patch 12.21 landed last night on League of Legends with notably K’Santé, Pride of Nazumah and 162nd champion to join the Summoner’s Rift, but also a brand new theme of skins, that of the Empyreans. But Riot Games never has time to waste between cycles, and the 12.22 skins have already been revealed. We find a family already known to players and rather recent: that of the Astro groove.

Second round

The Astro Groove family — a psychedelic and retro-futuristic theme, an eccentric version of a crazy and colorful SF universe — was launched last year with no less than 7 champions: Lulu, Samira, Rumble, Nunu, Nasus, Lux and Blitzcrank. For patch 12.22, Riot Games is putting the cover back before so many skins for Nami, Gragas, Lissandra, Ornn, Twisted Fate, Teemo (and yes) and Taric.

The good news, is that the studio has chosen some of the champions who have been waiting for a new appearance for a very (too?) long time.

  • Teemo : The glory days of the Yordle are back. He is getting his 14th skin after only ten months of waiting since he got his Pyrotechnician-themed appearance. .
  • Ornn : Third skin for the champion in the five years since its release. It was time, because he had been waiting for more than two years.
  • Taric : Another one that has been waiting for far too long. Specifically, 957 days have passed for one of the champions who received the fewest new skins in history.
  • Lisandra : She received a Porcelain-themed skin at the start of the year and, ten months later, she received her seventh appearance.
  • Twisted Fate : 430 days after Twisted Fate Criminal Nightmare, the champion receives his fifteenth skin.
  • Gragas : 12th skin after a little less than two years of waiting.
  • Nami : Riot has been giving it a little more love lately, and it shows. This will be her tenth skin, thirteen months after her Witch skin.

Over the next two weeks, the new skins will be available on the PBE for all League of Legends players with an account on the test server. During this time, Riot Games will polish the skins most discussed by the community and fix any potential design flaws.

esport-lol

LEC Wooloo has dropped a small for the League of Legends European Championship. After a stint with another team, a former G2 would return to the samurai to win it all. The icing on the cake, he and Hans Sama (also expected at G2) know each other very well.
