LoL: Riot announces that Sivir is the next champion to receive a rework!

Since the beginning of the year, Riot Games posted some important updates on League of Legends that helped refresh some underused Runeterra characters. Lead Champions Designer, August Browninghas now confirmed that Sivir is the next champion to receive a rework.

It’s at RiotRayYonggi, gameplay analyst, that comes the task of modernizing the Martial Virgin. The analyst is already known for having worked on Akshan, Lillia and Diana. Although she had a resurgence in popularity a few patches ago with her crit build, since the patch 12.11, Sivir is became the second least played champion in the AD carry role. His ban rate is at an all-time low, but his win rate is still 49.3% out of 12,000 games played. On the competitive side, from season 10 to today, Sivir has only been played 29 times in the various major leaguesaccording to statistics site Games of Legends.

Sivir is not the ADC with the most mechanics, especially when compared to more recent champions like Aphelios and Zeri. Despite his kit which already includes a fair amount of damage and self-peelRiot intends to change its abilities significantly so that they are more functional while keeping the identity of the spells.

The changes have yet to be described by Riot. But a Reddit post from RiotRayYongii tells us a little more about this future rework. For instance, his shield will remain mostly unchanged as its attack range of 500, as these are key characteristics of the champion’s skills. Riot has said it wants “enhancing but not replacing each of her spells to keep her familiar, but more functional“.

For the moment, we do not yet know the release date of the Sivir rework.
