LoL: Riot announces the first changes for season 13 and promises a revolution in the jungle

The countdown to the next season of League of Legends has officially begun. Although there are still a few months until the end of the current season and the start of the traditional “pre-season” period, Riot Games has revealed the first details on the slew of changes coming to the game in November. Above all, the developers wanted to focus on the jungle. One of the most problematic positions in the history of the game is going to undergo a complete overhaul which will affect both the side clear mechanic itself and the items used in that stance.

Big jungle changes announced by Riot Games

The first major goal of League of Legends developers is to make the jungle more accessible to players and champions. Riot Games employees again pointed out the limitations of this post and their insistence on removing it. From the champions’ perspective, they want to make the ability to clear sides more fair. The principle is simple: “remove some of the complexity of killing monsters and make it appear in other aspects of the game”. These aspects of the game that Riot Games have not yet specified and the studio is still experimenting with.

As mentioned, there will also be improvements for players who want to start in the jungle. In this case, the developer wants to make access to this post a little easier and less dependent on hours spent watching tutorials. As such, they plan to introduce a recommended route for camps and change how camps work to make it easier to know their range or not reset them by accident. Again, the developers insist that they don’t want to make the game easier, but “complex only in the right places”.

New mechanics

In addition to these jungle improvements, Riot Games also insisted on a major mechanic change for this stance that would focus on items. While the developer is generally happy, he feels the existing League of Legends items for the jungler role are unexciting. They are doing their job and they are doing it well, but there has been a big regression in that regard. In keeping with this approach, they want to bring back something similar to the Spirit of the Ancient Lizard, which disappeared at the end of Season Four.

League of Legends

In fact, one of the only hints Riot Games has given of the new jungle is the introduction of a pet that will permanently accompany champions in this position. “As a jungler, your role will be to help this little pet grow until it’s so big that it can help you.”, explain the developers. Unfortunately, they didn’t want to give more details about the effect it would have on the game and only talked about this idea as a prototype under development that will probably be integrated into the game, but with a very different.

All in all, it’s clear that improving the jungle will be one of the big goals for League of Legends Season 13. The studio has also announced plans to go through a similar process for top lane. However, the changes in the top lane will start to happen once the preseason is settled, and not before.

lfl-lol

LFL’s most successful player, however, had never been named MVP. What seemed to be an anomaly has been corrected for Summer 2022. This honor is not worth a title on League of Legends, but it is still very pleasant!
