LoL: Riot Games will delete inactive accounts – League of Legends

In recent times, Riot Games has been improving the security of its games, while protecting the data of its users. This notably happened with the arrival of the A2F, and will also go through deleting inactive accountswith the aim of not unnecessarily keeping the data of players who have abandoned one of the studio’s games, such as LoL, TFT or VALORANT.

Inactive Riot accounts deleted

Thereby, a wave of account deletions will take place, only for accounts that have been inactive for more than three years, and meet certain criteria. To make everything clear, the studio has notified the criteria that must be met for an inactive account to be deleted:

  • The account must be inactive for three years (not having launched a game or not having logged into the client)
  • Account has never purchased/received premium currency since creation
  • Account has less than 20 hours of play
  • Account does not have any limited edition content

As you can see, this only concerns the part that has played very little of one of the Riot Games titles. Often the curious or the curious who have not hooked on the proposed experience. The company further states that all the accounts concerned will receive an email to warn them and that it is possible to cancel this deletion, following the instructions that will be given. You can take the lead by relaunching your account now.

Finally, Riot explains that this process of deleting inactive accounts will be repeated from time to time, to only keep the data of more or less active players.
