LoL: Riot has already made a contingency plan for Renata Glasc!

League of Legends is preparing for the arrival of Renata Glasc – and Riot Games is already anticipating the potential disaster. The new champion, who will make her debut in the Rift with the introduction of patch 12.4, made headlines when she was announced, and for good reason: some of her skills with unique mechanics worry a lot of players, and especially his Z which theoretically allows you to revive an ally permanently…

Riot Games’ Contingency Plan with Renata

While being able to bring an ally back to life isn’t exactly a new mechanic, as Akshan or even Zilean testifies, there are some details about this skill that make it very different from what you might compare it to. The spell triggers immediately, allowing opponents who were hitting the Fallen Champion to finish him off in most cases if they maintain their aggressive stance. In addition, it comes with a counterpart: the buff granted by the spell disappears if it is only used to revive the target.

Using Renata’s W as a last resort forces us to sacrifice attack speed and movement speed boost

Despite these considerations and the tests carried out internally, Riot Games knows very well that the theory can fail. That’s why the studio has devised a Plan B, in case the champion’s firepower exceeds their expectations. A situation that occurs with all champions, but which is especially important in the case of Renata Glasc.

Whether to reduce its power in an overly oppressive early game or to moderate the frustration that could be generated by facing it, Riot Games has offered four scenarios in which they could adjust Renata’s power:

  • Reduce the buff duration offered by the skill and make it more difficult to revive allies.
  • Reduce the window of time during which a resurrection is possible.
  • return the more demanding resurrectionforcing the “fallen” player to deal damage to an enemy within a certain amount of time for resurrection to activate.
  • Increase buffs offered by competence to make its proactive use more profitable.

In short, Riot Games seems to have Renata under control before she even arrives in the Rift with a contingency plan that promises to master his most problematic ability…

On the side of his ultimate, on the other hand, nothing seems planned…

Renata will be an exception to the rule of new champions in League of Legends and will have a very interesting skin that perfectly matches her personality. A tweak that comes to the game after months of criticism over character launch aspects.
