LoL: She gets sniped and then banned by Riot!

Stream or play League of Legends is something that has no middle ground; either you find yourself in a game with players of your level who are doing their best, or you suffer or watch another the anger and bad faith of the most toxic players of all time. This is not only found at the highest level of play, even the intermediate ranks like Silver or Gold are teeming with players, each more toxic than the other (with also some paragons of patience and diplomacy). But in reality, if we stop to think, there is another section in this experience that only LoL streamers know about: stream snipers who just want to spoil the streamer’s game by leaving the game or disrupting their lane from the first minute of play. .

Of course, running into a troll also happens to ordinary gamers, but that doesn’t really compare to what some streamers go through. The case that this article will discuss is that of a Korean streamer who had probably one of the worst games in gaming history and ending up with 4 snipers in one of its parts

More than 3 hours of gameplay to receive a ban

League of Legends

Here’s what happened with this streamer: She ended up with 4 stream snipers: 2 in her team (Nasus and Jin) and 2 in the enemy team (Evelynn and Senna). This prevented the two teams from going, because the votes obtained are not sufficient to validate this decision (4 players of a team must vote yes). To this must be added the fact that Nasus and Jhin had decided to come and kill all possible minions first to hinder his farm, then to prevent the minions from destroying their base, while Senna and Evelynn prevented any means of backdooring (Nasus and Jhin would tell them where the opponents and especially the streamer were at all times).

What was the consequence of this sniping ? Well, a part that lasted more than 3 hours , something unimaginable in any normal League of Legends game. The streamer’s death toll passed 120 before she finally broke down in deciding to leave the game once for all. The result? A 14 day ban because of snipers who reported the content creator for negative attitude and feed intentional.

A tricky problem to solve

It is very likely that once the case will go back to the ears of Riot Games, the latter cancel the ban of the streamer, then instead banish individuals who have decided to rot his game. His case is not isolated, because among the French streamers, Sardoche undergoes a similar treatment or even worse. Even though the King of Salt was also an executioner at one timethis does not prevent the harassment he suffers from being just as damnable as the one he once inflicted through his community to other people.

The reasons that pushed the snipers to show so much hatred are not known, even if beyond the crass stupidity, it is not impossible that his genre galvanized them even more. Women on average experience more harassment than men, and this could be one of the reasons for the despicable behavior of these snipers. It’s hard for Riot Games to put a fair system in place for content creators because while some bear the full brunt of the hatred of a part of the community, others behave deplorably in game and would probably deserve some severe penalties.

esport-lol

Good news for Jean “Jezu” Massol and more generally for SK Gaming. The tricolor, absent from the last week of competition in the LEC should be able to make a comeback on Friday. Without him, it was difficult to have real ambitions for League of Legends for his team.
