LoL: Skarner’s rework revealed – Spells, lore, gameplay, all the info


Two years after winning the poll for the next VGU, Skarner
finally receives its rework. It must be said that the League of Legends champion was a complicated project for the developers. Because apart from being a scorpion, and his ultimate which neutralizes his target, Skarner didn’t really have his own identity, and didn’t really appeal to fans. So, they had to rethink almost everything. So here he has become a big monster from Ixtal, with a redesigned kit. Spells, gameplay, lore, here’s everything you need to know about Skarner’s rework.

Release date : The new Skarner is planned for patch 14.7, arriving on April 3 on live servers

Roles : Skarner remains a jungler, and is designed to also be able to go to the top even if he should have difficulty existing on the lane

Passive skill and spells of the new Skarner

Skarner is designed to have a lot of crowd control, even if it means missing a little damage compared to other tanks. But he compensates for this with original gank patterns, notably with his E which allows him to pass through walls.

Passive: Tectonic

Skarner, Shattered Earth, Uprising, and Impale attacks apply Quaking to enemies. Enemies with three stacks of Quaking take damage over time equal to a percentage of their max HP.

A – Shattered Earth/Uprising

Skarner pulls a rock from the ground which increases the power of his attacks and can be thrown as a powerful projectile. His third attack rams the rock into his target, slowing them and dealing bonus damage.

He can cast Uprising again to throw the rock like a projectile that explodes on the first enemy hit, dealing the same damage and slow.

Z – Seismic Bastion

Skarner gains a shield and causes a shockwave that deals damage and strengthens his shield with each champion hit.

E – Impact of Ixtal

Skarner charges forward, ignoring the terrain. If he encounters a champion or monster, he grabs it and throws it against a wall to deal damage and stun it.

R – Impalement

Skarner impales up to three enemy champions, dealing damage and incapacitating them. He gains bonus movement speed for a brief moment and carries them with him until this effect ends.

Some info on Skarner’s rework

New lore for Skarner, who becomes one of the pillars of Ixtal. This already allows him to have a logical story, but also to make people forget Seraphine’s war crimes with the crystals.

The developers were careful not to make him a Void monster, because all recent monsters fall into that category. And that this allows you to explore other fantasies, in different shades of color.
