For the past few seasons, Riot Games seemed to have lost the urge to make winter-themed skins. In 2019 we had Sugar Rush skins for the end of the year, Cosmics in 2020 and finally Seducers last year. Exit cosmetics Winter wonders, snow, reinterpreted Santa Claus or others. A tradition that dates back to the beginning of the game since in 2009, Riot Games had notably released Nidalee Lapin des Neiges, Nunu and Willump du Solstice or even Teemo the Happy Elf.
This year, the studio has therefore decided to return to its classics to celebrate the end of the year and the winter cold with a brand new theme, those of winter’s chosen ones.
New Fairy Appearances
For this end of the season, Riot Games is spoiling us with splendid skins belonging to the new theme entitled “chosen of winter”. To do this, 6 champions have been chosen: Diana, Shaco, Swain, Zilean, Zoe and Warwick (which will also receive a prestige edition).
This is very good news for Zilean who is probably the least liked champion skin level. It must be said that the poor Guardian of Time has already waited 3 times more than 1000 days between two skins. The first time was between 2011 and 2015 (more than 1000 days between the Time Traveler skin and Blood Moon) and the second time was between 2015 and 2019 (more than 1000 days between the Blood Moon cosmetic and Sugar Madness). And the third time therefore ends with patch 12.23.
These new cosmetics will spend two weeks on the PBE as usual, landing in Summoner’s Rift with the next update which will arrive on Wednesday, December 7 according to Riot Games’ official schedule.
