LoL: Team Oplon, the people’s team fighting to stay in the LFL

Rekkles, Cabochard, Cody Sun, Crownie, Adam… The LFL has more stars every year to enlighten its audience. But in this infernal arms race where absolutely everything is getting bigger, those who are called the “little ones”, can find it difficult to keep up. With sometimes limited means, it is sometimes difficult to fight and survive.

This is what is currently living Team Oplon, promoted to LFL for the 2022 season. However, the lift awaits the Spartans. With their 9th place in the Summer Split, they are condemned to compete in the Up&Down at the end of the year and could well lose their place in the first division of the French league. But the players do not intend to let it go and will give everything in the battle to maintain themselves. MGG decided to follow the roster behind the scenes during the LFL Prixtel Day. On stage, Team Oplon launched its mission well by showing that with its means, thepeople’s team was capable of great things.

The results of a complicated season

At the house of Team Oplon, we don’t hide and we know how to roll with the punches. Both the players and the technical staff know that the team has had a string of complicated results. 10th in the spring (2 wins for 16 losses), the summer was more encouraging (4 wins for 14 losses) with a 9th place. There are no surprises however and with just 16 championship points, the team will have to defend their place in the promotion tournament, alongside Mirage Elyandra.

The Spartans can’t afford to get their hands on players like Rekkles Where Cabochard. While they have just discovered the French first division, their history on League of Legends is still young. Not everyone can emulate the incredible trajectory of the Karmine Corp. To make matters worse, the team has seen quite a few changes within the roster during the season. Coach Nerroh arrived in the middle of the season and he took time to build a squad in his image and teach his vision of the game. Bang arrived to replace Xicor and while many have been skeptical, the Austrian is very valuable. The rescue of the structure will go through him. Let’s also take the time to highlight the arrival of Shernfire during the last transfer window. The experienced Australian brings stability and above all a lot of grinta.

Next step: Up&Down

On the LFL side, we already know the identity of the two teams that will fight for their survival: Team Oplon and Mirage Elyandra. For Div 2, MCES has already reserved its ticket, but the identity of the 2nd suitor is still to be determined: the place will be decided between PCS Taran and Izi Dream. For many, the gap between the two levels is significant. But in League of Legends, everything can go very quickly and we are not immune to a surprise.

The two LFL teams at risk appear to have relied on very different strategies to survive. true to his image, Team Oplon relies on the strength of his group and the automatisms developed during the season. The players and the coach are invested with a mission and they will do everything to maintain the structure. At Mirage Elyandra, rumors are rife. We already know that Rangjun has packed up and two jokers could be established at the last moment… FEBIVEN and soAZ. These two big names on the scene sell dreams and even if the mercenary image does not appeal too much to the community, the end can justify the means. Like what, even between “small”, the means can differ widely.

esport-lol

On League of Legends, everything is going well for Team Vitality. The bees remain on 3 victories in a row in the LEC and are well established on the provisional podium. Haru quickly adapted to the level of the European elite, but behind the scenes, another jungler connects the masterclasses.
