LoL: the French in LCS, end clap for Toucouille

The general classification of the Flyquest at the end of the regular season had placed them directly in the Loser Bracket. The team therefore had no room for error, and the slightest defeat meant the end of the competition for them. However the Evil Geniuses hurdle was too high for them, and after a logical defeat, the Spring Split now stops for Toucouille’s teammates. It is now time to look back on the latest performances of the tricolor, before its return to the Summer Split.

Scoring scale out of 10:

  • 0: played Yuumi jungle (why dude, why??)
  • 1: Human Ward
  • 2: Poor performance, unworthy of an LCS player
  • 3-4: Below expected level / made big mistakes
  • 5: Average / alternated between excellent and mediocre
  • 6-7: Solid on his support, the player was one of the driving forces of the collective
  • 8-9: Not content with outclassing his direct opponent(s), the player has had the luxury of making crazy moves
  • 9.5: 1v9 god, with moves at 200 IQ
  • 10: If perfection had a name, it would have its own
  • 11: 1v9 god, moves at 200 IQ while playing Yuumi jungle

Ahriole not in the playoffs

The first game was not easy for our compatriot. Having left for Orianna, he found himself opposed to his opponent’s Ahri, as well as Xin Zhao from Inspired who had decided that the midlane was a nice place to set up a tent and have a barbecue with the Hérault de la Faille. Logically, Toucouille had to leave some space at the start of the game, which allowed the Evil Geniuses to start their snowball. He then made up for it during the regroupings and his Orianna still managed to cause various problems for their opponents. It wasn’t enough to turn the game around, especially because of the delay also accumulated by Kumo in toplane. The Flyquest composition was more focused on teamfights, but their opponents never gave them the opportunity to put their game down, and dictated the pace throughout this first round.

In the second round, Toucouille was able to recover Ahri and take revenge on Jojopyun. Even if he dominated, this game was far from easy for his team. Despite the advantages taken early, the Flyquests failed to completely snowball the Evil Geniuses, even having the first ancestral dragon stolen, which completely restarted the game. The tricolor and its partners, however, managed to bend without breaking, and recover the second round, while their opponents had regained the advantage in gold. Toucouille was exemplary on this part, always placing well during the fights, and allowing the team to stay afloat in the heart of the storm.

Orianna can’t do it

Round three was much calmer. The Frenchman was on Orianna again, but again their opponents did very well to avoid taking bad fights. The game was quite balanced, before completely switching to a single inevitable fight to try to prevent the Evil Geniuses from recovering the souls of the dragons. With very few groupings in the end, the Orianna pick was useless in this game, failing to create real favorable situations. Difficult to totally throw the stone at Toucouille, but it is clear that he failed to have an impact in this part.

Despite two consecutive failures, Orianna was again chosen for the deciding round. History repeated itself, and the Flyquests once again proved unable to impose their rhythm, contenting themselves with suffering that of their opponents. Toucouille managed to have more impact, but not enough to turn the tide. The defeat here is completely deserved, but the team will have to question itself for the Summer Split, because it proved unable to adapt to the opposing game. Each player bears a share of responsibility, but the coaching staff must also review their copy, because even if they undoubtedly had excellent reasons to persevere in their tactics, the latter could not be applied correctly. Casually, this split remains encouraging, and if the team continues to progress, it could well play the spoilsports in the Summer Split.

div2-lfl

Div 2 took a little break after the coronation of MCES. While waiting for the recovery and the Summer Split, several teams could refine their workforce in order to be even stronger. At the Nordistes of Lille Esport, we have in any case two players on the start.
