LoL: The French in LCS: Toucouille’s gift to Team Liquid

This second week of competition was an opportunity for the teams having managed a clear round during the first week to take off on their direct pursuers. This was especially true for Team Liquid, as CLGs and EGs were set to face off, while Hans’ teammates were supposed to have a simpler week. Toucouille and Flyquest even made the planets align for TL, defeating CLG, who would then defeat the Evil Geniuses. Only TSM also came the spoilers, getting the better of Team Liquid, preventing a single leader from emerging. Back to the week of tricolor players.

Scoring scale out of 10:

  • 0: played Yuumi jungle (why dude, why??)
  • 1: Human Ward
  • 2: Poor performance, unworthy of an LCS player
  • 3-4: Below expected level / made big mistakes
  • 5: Average / alternated between excellent and mediocre
  • 6-7: Solid on his support, the player was one of the driving forces of the collective
  • 8-9: Not content with outclassing his direct opponent(s), the player has had the luxury of making crazy moves
  • 9.5: 1v9 god, with moves at 200 IQ
  • 10: If perfection had a name, it would have its own
  • 11: 1v9 god, moves at 200 IQ while playing Yuumi jungle

From human to Toucouille

The Flyquest week was going to be difficult, because they were scheduled to face two undefeated teams in Week 1. Like BDS in LEC, players have more than responded. Their match against CLG was excellent, despite a very good game from the co-leaders of the LCS. The Flyquest focused a lot on the botlane, to put JohnSun’s Twitch into orbit. Toucouille played a key role in this snowball, muzzling Palafox’s Taliyah with his Ahri. He allowed his bot duo to not take too much pressure from the midlane, and remained perfect throughout the match, not once dying in the game. After 40 minutes, the team finally managed to win the decisive fight and end the game, while their opponents had a lead of up to 5k gold.

Team Liquid made no mistake about it, and banished the Ahri from Toucouille as well as the Yuumi from Aphromoo. The Flyquest tried to start again on a similar strategy anyway, but the TL succeeded perfectly in containing them. This time, it was Toucouille and his teammates who saw their 5K gold lead melt away before losing. If the tricolor did not make big mistakes, he especially failed to find good opportunities with his Leblanc, and in the end was relatively transparent despite a good lane phase.

Hans and TL save the furniture but do not reassure

The Frenchman was rather discreet during the defeat against TSM. The fault is not entirely his, because his Ezreal was more picked to hold the lane alone and let CoreJJ roam with Bard. Despite this, Hans managed to play a decent game and place enough damage to make an impact, despite the final defeat. It’s a good performance considering the circumstances, but unfortunately insufficient to overcome the TSM.

The Frenchman couldn’t do better against Flyquest. Sa Zeri still had a difficult game as his opponents played a lot around their botlane. He remained relatively transparent, never finding any big opportunities to shine, but not making any big mistakes either.

Zdravets “Hylissang” Iliev Galabov is a brave among the brave in the League of Legends scene. At 27, the Support is a veteran and he has had time to leave his mark on the LEC during his long career. Last weekend, he again broke a new record!
