LoL: The French in LEC, Jezu in difficulty NUCLEARINT plays nice!

This second week of LEC was full of twists and turns. However, not all French players got the results they deserved, and their three teams are now at the back of the pack, with only one victory for four defeats. If it is still too early to say that qualification for the playoffs is out of their reach, they will all have to do even better in the weeks to come. Another week without wins would put them in a very delicate position, and would leave them almost no room for error until the end of the regular season. Back on their individual performances.

Scoring scale out of 10:

  • 0: played Yuumi jungle (but why??)
  • 1: Human Ward
  • 2: Poor performance, unworthy of an LEC player
  • 3-4: Below expected level / made big mistakes
  • 5: Average / alternated between excellent and mediocre
  • 6-7: Solid on his support, the player was one of the driving forces of the collective
  • 8-9: Not content with outclassing his direct opponent(s), the player has had the luxury of making crazy moves
  • 9.5: 1v9 god, with moves at 200 IQ
  • 10: If perfection had a name, it would have its own
  • 11: 1v9 god, moves at 200 IQ while playing Yuumi jungle

Problems at SK and in the game of Jezu

Jezu’s performance against Astralis wasn’t terribly bad, but one has to wonder about the SK draft. With the Kayle top, Corki mid and Jinx botlane picks, we don’t really see what the team was hoping to do in the early/mid game. Admittedly, the Astralis composition played a lot in the late game, but Gangplank has her ultimate which allows her to intervene anywhere on the map, while Orianna’s can do the job in teamfights/skirmishes even if she doesn’t have a lot of damage, thanks to the area CC it provides. SK didn’t have the weapons to prevent their opponents from snowballing, and Jezu didn’t particularly shine. His team even took skirmishes when he was not present, and we don’t really know who to blame, but we can’t say that the tricolor made us dream in this match. His second game with Ezreal is bad. While some of Gilius’ decisions can be questioned a lot, Jezu failed to do anything with his champion. He will have inflicted in the end a little more than 50% of the damage of Neon on Kai’Sa, which is bad with Ezreal whose poke is precisely the great strength. He should have had more impact, and still missed his game, even though he’s not the only one to blame for the loss. Hopefully he’ll be back fit and healed next week, and show us games as good as he did in the Spring Split.

Vetheo stays the course!

The Frenchman held his rank against Rogue, even being the player (with Shlatan) to have prevented the team from losing much earlier. His Corki was very good, and he managed to exploit the few opportunities that were offered to him. Unfortunately, the Rogue managed to dominate the top and the bot, leaving Misfits to fall far behind, and there was nothing Vetheo could do to allow his team to recover. He was perfect in the match against SK, never dying and creating the game with his Ahri. Even if we must not hide the performance of the rest of the team who also played very well, it was nice to see the Rabbits midlaner offer such a level of play.

NUCLEARINT like a Boss!

If we expected BDS to have a difficult week against G2 and Fnatic, we hadn’t expected that the two sacred monsters of the LEC would also have a complicated week. The French and Cinkrof coordinated perfectly against Caps, even if the midlaner had a bit of success early on on a level crossing at a critical moment. He then succeeded perfectly in roam, to put his teammates on the right track, and it was collectively that the BDS overcame the defending champions. Her Lissandra allowed the team to either temporize or make some timely catches, and it was great League of Legends. The G2 didn’t miss out on their match thanks in particular to a Caps of the great days, and that’s what makes the victory even more beautiful.

Despite a build choke on his Kog Maw without Tear of the Goddess, NUCLEARINT was able to hold his own against Fnatic. He even found decisive kills a few times, keeping the BDS afloat. Yes, this game could be improved, and that’s what makes the performance even more incredible. Despite the handicap he imposed on himself, the tricolor was excellent during this game. We just wonder if the result would have been different without this clumsiness, but it confirms that if the team doesn’t give up, then we will really have to count with BMS in this Summer Split (on the other hand, we will not have to throw the games away as in week 1, but with a good 3rd week, it will be more than a bad memory).

A member of the League of Legends community has created a gigantic post criticizing all of Riot Games’ events, claiming that they “have always been pretty bad”. To his surprise, one of the company’s founders responded by offering him a job.
