LoL: The Karmine Corp, more powerful than TSM and G2 Esports?

The Karmine Corp. much talked about in the world of esports. Obviously, his League of Legends team is on the front line, especially since he managed to get his hands on a certain Rekkles. Whether in LFL or to EUMthe ultras always respond to send maximum support to his foals.

This massive support can be measured in Twitter statistics, highlighted by Xavier Oswald. For the first quarter of 2022, the Karmine made the meters explode on the social network, inviting itself into the top 5 of the most “popular” structures. Seeing this French structure ahead of giants like TSM, T1 or G2 Esports is a real feat… Knowing that KC is not involved in a lot of games and that in League of Legends it is not even in a major league qualifier for the Worlds.

Impressive figures for a French structure

Kameto is very attached to its community and it mainly targets a French audience. While our country has only slightly more than 66 million inhabitants, our strike force remains somewhat limited in number, even if we add our Belgian and Swiss neighbours. By comparison, the United States has more than 330 million inhabitants and Brazil has more than 210 million. But we saw it during the famous Pixel War: quantity does not always equal quality. The Karmine Corp has a hyperactive community on social networks and we must give credit where credit is due. The structure pampers its fans, with among others physical events which are extremely pleasing (KCX, KCX Showmatch).

We do not have the figures for structures that are not part of the top 10. But we imagine that the other French structures are very far, even Team Vitality which has a very rich history. It’s not even worth talking about structures like GamersOrigin Where GameWard… Afterwards can we say that today the Karmine Corp is the largest French structure in the world of sports? The debate is open and it can be posed. The definition is not clear and other factors must be taken into account (results, history, financial means, etc.). But if we only talk about fanbase and social networks, KC crushes the competition.

Brazil, another Twitter stronghold

In the top 10 structures that are the most talked about on Twitter, we must still salute the enormous performance of the Brazilians. In France, many have discovered the structure LOUD, which makes a lot of noise on the networks. Ranked number 1, the team is particularly talked about on League of Legends or Valorant. But Brazil does not stop there and also occupies the 4th place (Bread Gaming), 6th place (Los Grandes) and 10th place (Furia Esports). We could even attribute them part of the 9th place of TSM : the structure is American but it has a Brazilian roster on Free Fire.

Some will also be surprised to see that there are no Chinese or Korean structures in the ranking, even though the two countries are references in the field of esports. But it’s not really a surprise, Twitter is not widely used in Asia. In China, we prefer Weibo (and Twitter and blocked unless using a VPN). In South Korea, we usually use Kakaotalk.

esport-lol

The European Masters have started well and the first phase is already over. For those who don’t have time to follow the competition, there’s no need to apologize and we’re thinking of you by summarizing the League of Legends performances of our French teams.
