We no longer present Park “Viper” Do-hyeon. Crowned world champion in 2021 with the Chinese team EDG, but of Korean nationality, he is above all recognized and respected all over the world. Considered by some to be the best ADC in the world, he has however suffered the law of Deft during the last Worlds, going out in the quarter-finals of the competition.
We don’t know if this “poor performance” sounded like an alert, but the player decided to return home for the season 2023. He will find the LCK in a team he knows very well… Are we going to see the formation of a new superteam?
Viper, in search of his first title in LCK
Viper may be a world champion, but he has never won a title in LCK. He has to his credit a Kespa Cup (2018), but this competition does not have the same prestige. However, he wore the colors of Hanwha Life Esports and Team Griffin, the team that sank due to an explosive drama. While he failed 3 times in the final, we imagine that he could see himself finally winning the cup in his country!
In 2023, he will have another chance to shine. Hanwha Life Esport made his return official. His last passage had not been conclusive (9th place). But since then, the ADC has found the light. He’s a top player and when you’re as mechanically gifted as Viper, the title is never completely out of reach.
A team to build around him
Currently, Hanwha Life Esports only has two elements: Viper (ADC) and DuDu (top). The latter is under contract until the end of 2023, but if the team really aims for the title, he could recruit another top laner. It will therefore be necessary to build a roster around the ADC and in South Korea, the transfer window promises to be agitated. There are a lot of free agents, especially at XRD. Even Faker is exploring his options! Fans hope for the birth of a new Korean superteam. But to find out more, we will have to wait above all.
A player to watch: Lehends. A former teammate of Viper, he’s been a free agent since leaving Gen.G. We would like to see the duo of Team Griffin reform.
