On the occasion of LFL Days in Boulogne-Billancourt, the French League of Legends league confirms its desire to organize at least four shows per season. The aim would be to provide two days of the regular season which would therefore be LFL Days and the two finals of the spring and summer segments.
As explained Bertrand Ammar, to our colleagues from L’Equipe, responsible for the esports branch at Webedia, which co-organizes the LFL with Riot Games, the objective is not to “trivialize LFL Dayss” who are currently audience peaks for the French league.
“In 2023, we want two distinct types of events […] First, the LFL days, with one destination per segment, which would host either one date like in Boulogne-Billancourt or two dates like in Nice. Then, we would also like to offer the segment finals offline, with lighter configurations.
To these four offline events would be added the French Cupa new appointment scheduled for this autumn gathering LFL teams, second division and the best teams of the amateur circuit.
“We want offline for this competition, at least for the final. For the venue, the problem is the same as for the LFL finals, so we are aiming for rooms with more than 1,500 people. We are also thinking about the possibility of playing matches at Paris Games Week, even if nothing is done.
The idea is also to leave room on the schedule to allow teams to organize their own evenings such as the Karmine Corp and its KCX. Events that galvanize the crowds and are also peak ratings for the LFL.
