LoL: The LPL celebrated HanFu Day with beautiful artwork!

Riot Games has a habit of creating events around traditional festivals. For Westerners, Halloween or Christmas are the celebrations that first come to mind. It has also happened that the studio has partnered with some fashion designers, like Louis Vuitton for True Damage skins. It is therefore not surprising that the LPL has chosen to follow suit, creating a mini event around HanFu Day.

What is Han Fu?

the HanFu is a traditional Chinese garment, whose origins date back to the Shang dynasty, who reigned in the Yellow River valley, in 2000 BC. This outfit has adapted over the millennia, and is still used today on certain occasions. It is not an everyday outfit, but rather clothes worn for special occasions. Despite this ceremonious side, they are also pieces worn by some Chinese fashionistas. These are the clothes that inspired Japanese kimonos and Korean hanboks.

Their name has not retained the imprint of the dynasty under which they were born, but that of the Han dynasty, which reigned for 4 centuries from -202 to 220 AD (with a short break between the year 9 and 25 AD). The end of this dynasty marks the beginning of the Three Kingdoms period.

Where is the competition in LPL?

Victory Five confirms its excellent form from the Spring Split. The team is currently undefeated, with 7 wins. Although they have yet to face some of the best teams, they managed to beat the RNGs, winners of the Spring Split and the MSI. They will try to continue this momentum, Sunday at 1 p.m. against EDG, current fourth in the standings.

The JD Gaming take second place. They too have 7 victories on the clock, but have a defeat suffered against the FPX. This result was quite surprising, the FPX being in a delicate situation with 3 wins for 5 losses. Top Esports completes the podiumwith 6 wins and one loss.

As to RNGalthough they are not on the podium, there is not necessarily reason to worry. The team is the one that has played the fewest matches since the resumption, and so far they have 4 wins for 1 loss. They will also have the opportunity to move up the rankings later, since they face TES at 1 p.m.

Regarding the teams that disappoint, we can count Invictus Gaming, which is definitely not getting there this season. After missing the playoffs in the Spring Split, the former world champions are currently penultimate, with only one victory in 7 meetings. Bilibili Gaming is also struggling, with 2 wins for 5 losses. The team had shown great things in the previous split, finally earning a place in the playoffs, but they missed their start. On the other hand, Anyone’s Legend made a good start to the championship, when they were playing for the last places in the spring.

Esports Charts regularly provides figures on esports audiences around the world. And it may be time to sound the alarm in LEC with a significant drop in viewers. We can’t help but have a thought for Karmine and her League of Legends team.
