LoL: The second Gen.G. in 2023 is known!

the Ruler’s departure had the effect of a bomb among fans of Gen. G. Loyal to the team since May 2016, despite the latter’s name changes, the legendary ADC has always been at the heart of the esports project. When the team had been rebuilt, it was he who was the basic pillar, and the various players recruited had to have a style of play that fitted well with that of Ruler. His departure fooled no one, and even the leaders are aware that he marks the end of an era, to the point of having removed forever the number worn by their former star. Nevertheless, a departure is ultimately only the beginning of a new journey (quote from Filausofeu.com), and the Gen.G. project for 2023 is getting more and more interesting.

The two new pillars

It was already obvious thatone player would stay with the team for 2023: Chovy. The mid laner had extended his contract in Juneuntil November 2023. It would not be logical for him to leave the structure only 5 months after this contract extension, negotiated well before the end of the LCK season and the Worlds.

Tonight, another legend has decided to return for a year: Peanut. The jungler will therefore wear the colors of Gen. G one more year, which will be a first in his career. The player is indeed never stayed more than a year within the same structure (technically it is, but it was 1 year and 25 days, if you want to quibble), and this decision is quite interesting. Unfortunately the information about his decision does not say if he stayed because he received an offer he couldn’t refuse, or if it was the team’s project for 2023 that convinced him (or even a bit of both).

With Chovy and Peanut, the Gen.G therefore make sure to have two players who are both talented and experienced, but who can also take on the roles of carry or team player.

Who could accompany them?

At the level of other players’ contracts of the team, those of Doran and Lehends are supposed to end today (November 21). Gen.G might want to build a SuperTeam and be interested in other stars whose contracts are ending soon like Viper, Deft in CDA, BeryL and Life in support, Kiin, TheShy or Rich in toplane. If it is not certain that making an umpteenth SuperTeam is a good solution, for the moment Gen.G in has the profile with contracts that will only last a year, the time to prepare the next generation with their academic team. Unless of course, they think they have already spotted the future champions of tomorrow or find other less prestigious profiles who could just as easily adapt to the team.

esport-lol

The rumors are intensifying and Doublelift should resume competition for the 2023 League of Legends season! He would not return for a low-cost project, but to reform a legendary duo with Bjergsen. We can talk about a superteam!
