LoL: The unexpected interaction between two champions that takes advantage of a useless ability

League of Legends has hundreds of unique abilities that give rise to an infinite number of combinations. This is why interactions with spells generate so much interest. Besides the fact that they are not always well programmed, they can surprise us even when they work as we expect. The results are almost always dramatic, and even players who have spent the most hours in Summoner’s Rift may not be aware of these curious effects.

The interaction that makes a useless ability formidable in combat

One of the latest examples of spectacular interactions is the one shared by the community. In this one, a player managed to use Ryze’s ultimate in a very creative way. Of course, he did it unintentionally and thanks to a teammate who desperately wanted to enter the Transdimensional Portal. Specifically, we’re talking about a Pyke that cast its E – Phantom Undertow. He did this to accompany his ally, but after a while he realized that he had accidentally hit an opponent who was completely exposed.

The truth is that this interaction meets what we expect from this ability. However, this is a rather surprising move that gives an unsuspected combat use to an otherwise useless ultimate. Don’t get me wrong, it’s true that the Dimensional Portal is one of the best spells in all of League of Legends, but rarely does it have such a direct effect on enemies.

What’s interesting is that it’s not an easy interaction to replicate, but it’s a resource that players could use in-game. The only problem is that neither champion features on the list of the most popular League of Legends champions. Due to its poor ranked form, Ryze is barely played in 1.7% of matches. So even though Pyke is slightly more popular (8.7%), it is very difficult to recreate this situation.
