LoL: Where are the invincible Fnatics from 2015 now?

Those who have not experienced the perfect Split of fnatic in LCS EU (18 wins for 0 losses) really missed something. Never in Europe had a team dominated so much, even the great G2 of the time. This performance will forever go down in history and many fans fell in love with this legendary roster. But what has become of the epic players today? Many have hung up their cleats, but there are still some who are still assets !

Heo “Huni” Seung-hoon, the newly retired

The toplaner is the latest player to retire. Party in NA for a long time (Clutch Gaming, Echo Fox, TSM…), he however suffered from an old wrist injury. He revealed that this was not new, but recently got out of hand. Unable to follow the rhythm of life of a pro player, who has to train a lot, he could no longer hold his place and decided to hang up his cleats during the Summer 2022 LCS. The fans are sad, but this decision is the wisest for the health of the Korean player.

The future from Huni is still unclear and he has promised to keep one foot in the world of League of Legends. It remains to be seen whether he will become a coach, commentator or streamer. Many possibilities are available to him, even if he will also have to think about making his compulsory military service.

Kim “Reignover” Yeu-jin, an ever-active brain

The other Korean in this legendary roster followed Huni to North America where he chained several teams (Immortals, Team Liquid, CLG…). Older than his friend, he retired end of 2018, almost 4 years ago! But he did not remain inactive and he quickly converted to coaching. Position coach, assistant coach, headcoach… he had multiple roles at Cloud9. Today, however, he has chosen to return to Europe and he accompanies the staff of MAD Lions. If Elyoya is so good, it is also because he receives the knowledge and support of reignover.

Reignover never made as much of a show as Huni. But he’s always been smart and as a former jungler he’s used to being an active part of a team’s strategy. The role of coach suits him perfectly.

Fabian “FEBIVEN” Diepstraten, the dinosaur still standing

In July 2021, FEBIVEN retired after a short spell at Fnatic Rising, Fnatic’s academy team. But this retirement ended recently and the Dutchman decided to return to service. Looking for a new team for several months, he caught the eye of an LFL team. Mirage Elyandra paid for his services for a short-term contract. The veteran has a mission: to save the team from relegation in the promotion tournament.

FEBIVEN therefore has its work cut out for it. In case of failure, it is not known if other teams would be ready to reach out to him. But if he succeeds in his mission, Mirage Elyandra could offer him an extension. Other candidates could also enter the dance given that the midlaner maintains an interesting profile.

Carl Martin Erik “Rekkles” Larsson, Karmine’s favorite

Rekkles was already there in 2015, but in 2022 he remains relatively young given that he is only 25 years old. He is still faithful to the position and has never stopped playing. After staying at Fnatic for a long time and spending a year at historical rival G2 Esport, he discovered a new horizon this season. He agreed to come back down to the ERL to taste the madness of the Karmine Corp.. Presented as an international star, he received a lot of love and attracted sponsors. The Swede took the opportunity to make a new tattoo, gained even more followers and added a title (EUM) to his list.

Unfortunately, the season is already almost over for him after an incomprehensible rout in the LFL Summer Split. Will stay, won’t stay, bets are off. But he should still be active next year, he still hasn’t achieved his goal: to win the Worlds.

Bora “YellOwStaR” Kim, the big brother

The time has passed for everyone and YellOwStar is now 30 years old. At Fnatic in 2015, he played the role of big brother. He is now a family man and a hen father. He continues to take care of esports players, but in a different role… Player agent, he brings his experience and his network to defend his clients.

He retired from sport in two-stroke. At the end of 2016, he left Fnatic and Summoner’s Rift to join PSG Esport, in a multi-purpose role behind the scenes. The appeal of the game was too strong, however, and he returned to service in 2020 at LDLC OL. He played again for a year and a half, before retiring (permanently) in November 2021.

esport-lol

The European League of Legends community is mourning one of its old darlings… Even though he had taken off a long time ago, the LEC public continued to follow his adventures abroad. Unfortunately, he was forced to hang up his cleats.
