The finals of LEC will take place in Sweden, the September 10 and 11 next. We know the dates, we know the place, but we don’t yet know the names of the actors! It is still too early to say and at present, the 10 teams of the European elite can hope to be there, even the current last of the classification (Misfits, SK and BDS). The segment is still long and only two weeks of competition have passed.
In any case, we thought it was a good opportunity to put the Swedes of the LEC in the spotlight. This Scandinavian country is present in force in the league and even if a certain Rekkles is now an LFL gem, he has plenty of compatriots in Europe’s top flight. So who can hope to play at home and enjoy the support of the crowd next September?
Home is close at hand
Three Swedes have a great chance of being at the Malmö Arena. They put in an interesting showing in the Spring Split and they picked up some valuable championship points for seeding. For the moment, they are also rather on a good dynamic since the resumption of the Summer Split. Playing at home is therefore a possibility that does not seem at all absurd
- YamatoCannon (Fnatic): the Fnatic coach has real ambitions for his team. He wants to win everything this year and spring has surely left him hungry. With a 3rd place, the orange and black structure hoped for better… But for the summer, the workforce has not changed and the great players are still there. Europe’s other superteam is therefore a client that must be taken very seriously.
- Larssen (Rogue): the team has still not managed to win a title in Europe, but it still remains on 4 podiums in the last 4 segments (2 times 2nd and 2 times 3rd). His Swedish midlaner is a safe bet in the league and we imagine that he is very motivated to play at home. After a tricky start, Rogue also seems to be moving forward.
- finn (EXCEL Esports): XL is the big odds of the summer. Often mocked and criticized for its inability to make people dream, the structure finally has an XXL workforce that can hope to make the top 3. This is the objective of the year and even if in the spring the team finished 6th, in the summer could be a lot sunnier. His bootcamp in South Korea was beneficial and currently, it is surely the team that is currently playing the best. Whether it will hold up remains to be seen.

Other Swedes, on the other hand, are a little less well placed to party at home. Playing a final or a semi-final is not given to everyone and the places are very expensive, especially since several teams not necessarily expected (Astralis), are playing spoilsport. In addition, remember that the seeding of the playoffs in the Summer Split depends on the championship points accumulated… the latter depending in particular on the performances in the Spring Split. Some teams therefore leave late.
- Treatz (SK Gaming): He’s back in his favored position in the bottom lane alongside Jezu. SK Gaming isn’t doing very well though. The team scored 0 championship points during the spring. The summer promises to be just as complicated (1 win for 4 losses). It is therefore difficult to see the player getting his place for the Malmö Arena… unless he is invited to the analysis desk!
- UNFORGIVEN (MAD Lions): the ancient kings of Europe have moved forward with the arrival of Nisqy and they have a rather attractive face. Theoretically, they can claim the top 3, even if all the worries have not yet been settled. There is also another problem. MAD did not recover any points during its spring run. Even in the event of a good performance this summer, the team’s table could therefore be complicated.
