Change to the strategic level: Jürgen Klopp signs with the can company as “Global Head of Soccer”.
Jürgen Klopp has found a new task. The former coach of Mainz, Dortmund and Liverpool will become “Global Head of Soccer” at Red Bull, as the company confirmed on Wednesday morning. In his job, which begins on January 1, 2025, the German will work at a strategic level for the can company’s football clubs. The 57-year-old will bring his know-how in tactical development and scouting to the Red Bull clubs.
Legendary status at Liverpool
Klopp was most recently head coach of Liverpool FC from October 2015 to May 2024. With the “Reds” he won 8 titles, including the Champions League in 2019 and the first English championship title since 1990 in 2020.
Most recently, he received the Federal Cross of Merit and the Order of Merit of Baden-Württemberg – for his social commitment outside of sport and his work against racism. Klopp was awarded the honor in 2020, but it was only presented four years later because of Corona.
