The Broadcast application made available by Nvidia had not seen a major update for over a year. The firm took advantage of the announcements of CES 2023 in Las Vegas to put its application dedicated to webcams back in the light. Broadcast had indeed amazed its world when it came out with an option to cancel ambient noise. Since then, other features have emerged, such as background replacement, blurring and face tracking.
Nvidia’s application now activates an option particularly highlighted by videoconferencing services: theeye contactwhich makes people believe that you are constantly looking at the camera lens while you are reading a text or doing something else.
In practice, the functionality is convincing when the eyes are clearly visible facing the camera, a little less with the webcam of a laptop PC with a slight low-angle shot.
In addition to eye contact, Nvidia added a vignette effect that darkens the corners of the image, the ability to flip the image horizontally, and shooting directly in the app. The blurring and wallpaper replacement options have been improved to better outline the subject.
