Loot was in the bushes – Graz: two perpetrators caught after a gas station attack

The gas station robbery on Saturday evening in Graz has been resolved: Two initially unknown perpetrators captured a low four-digit amount of cash at the Shell gas station in St.-Peter-Hauptstrasse. A 20-year-old from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and an 18-year-old from North Macedonian have now been arrested.

The attack on October 23, shortly after 7 p.m., lasted only a few minutes: a man masked with a balaclava threatened the 50-year-old employee with a weapon – as it now turned out to be a CO2 pistol – his accomplice was standing at the front door Schmiere and prevented other people from entering the sales room.

“I was under the influence of drugs”
Robber investigators from the Styrian State Criminal Police Office were able to investigate the 20-year-old main culprit from the Republic of the Congo on Monday. The man was ordered by the Graz Public Prosecutor’s Office by officials of the EGS (Task Force to Combat Street Crime) arrested and taken to the Graz-Jakomini prison. He confessed to the robbery – he was under the influence of drugs.

Arrest of the contributor
His accomplice, an 18-year-old North Macedonian, was arrested on Tuesday. “So far he has refused to testify and is being admitted to the Graz-Jakomini prison. Almost all of the cash was seized near the crime scene, under bushes, ”said the police.
