Lorient: a former player tried for money laundering


Walid Mesloub, a former Lorient player in particular, was tried on Monday for “laundering” and “receiving money laundering” in a case of alleged drug trafficking.

The player explained during his hearing in April 2021 that he was duped by his friend on the purchase of one of the vehicles. Except that the investigators found several other vehicles in his name and used by “the Chinese”.

According to the investigators, a Mercedes AMG C63S would have been exchanged against 2 kg of cocaine with other defendants. More than 196,000 euros would have been credited, in two years, to the player’s accounts. Mesloub’s lawyer will plead innocence. The hearing will last three days.
